Pamper your dad this Father's day

A dad they say is a friend, philosopher and guide. This Father's Day, make your dad feel special by all means...
Pamper your dad this Father's day
My dad taught me what it meant to be a man of integrity. He always put himself last and his children first. While I was growing up, he sacrificed so much, that too without hesitation, to provide me things that he never had as a child, says Manish Tiwari, an artist.
A dad they say is a friend, philosopher and guide. He is the guiding force that remains with us forever.

Just as mother and child, the bond between a father and a child is an important one. Children need a unique style of bonding that fathers provide. The father-child relationship becomes stronger, if both of them spend time engaging in physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual activities, states relationship expert Mahima Mathur.
My father once told me that he wont mind even if I failed to achieve to success in life, but he would want me to become a good human. This advice of his has had a lasting impression on my mind and helped in shaping my character, shares Darpan Kanwal, a doctor.
I am glad that someone thoughtful marked a special day especially for fathers for us to tell them that we appreciate, love and adore them. My dad is a pillar of strength. Extremely broadminded and chilled out, he has always been supportive of my decisions. In the hectic lifestyle that we lead today, we often forget to tell the most important people in our lives that our lives would be meaningless without them, quips Shalini Katoch, product manager ibibo.com.

Dads have dropped you off to school, while on the way to office, even if it meant taking a detour, pushed you on a swing, helped you with your homework, taken you out to your favorite ice cream palour when you scored an A in your exams, built your science project, made it to your dance competition on time, paid your mobile bills and fixed your first car. Today is his day so lets talk about some ways in which we can make it special for him!
Spend the day with him
The biggest gift you can give to your father is spending quality time with him and doing things that he cherishes. You can just spend the day on the couch watching some of his favourite movies . Dig out old photo albums and reminisce on days long lost.
I am looking forward to be with my dad, this Fathers day. I just want to spend the whole day with him, because its been quite some time since we have had a heart to heart conversation, says Devinder, a financial consultant.
Kiran Rana, a media professional, also has plans lined up for the D-day. I am taking my father out for a movie, since he is a big movie lover and later end the day with a quite dinner.
Treat him with fine dining
Pay a special thanks to your father by indulging in some delightful eating extravaganza. If he enjoys going out to eat, then plan a family dinner at his favourite eating spot. Make sure you book the table in advance, so you don't end up standing in line waiting for hours. If he prefers a nice quite dinner at home, then you can always order.
I plan to pamper my dad, this Fathers day, since they are the ones least pampered in the family. His idea of peace and happiness is good food and wine with the entire family in tow, shares Sumeet Pal Singh, a merchandiser.
Indulge in some fun
Get him out of the house to enjoy his favourite activity for the day. It doesn't matter if it means watching a movie, strolling through the neighbourhood park; its just about having a good time with your dad. A gesture as simple as a game of squash, cards or chess is sure to get his youthful juices going again.
"I will organise a surprise party for my dad at some nice restaurant in the evening with lots of surprise gifts. I will invite all his old friends in this party whom he has always wanted to meet. It couldn't be a better surprise for him on this Father's day, divulges Piyush Aggarwal, a blogger.
Drop in for a surprise visit, if you are away
It would be a wonderful idea, if you pay a surprise visit to your dad to celebrate this day with him. Let him know how much you care. Or else you can always send him a gift as a token of your love.
Tarun Rathee who is pursing higher studies from the University Institute Eurecom Sophia Antipolis, France says, As I am away from home, I will send him a childhood picture of the two of us together, to remind him, that I adore him. He taught me to play sports which got me to college, to stay away from drugs/alcohol, be a loyal friend and follow my passions. He has always been an anchor in life.
A gift that really matters
You can find out thr one thing your dad has always wanted to try out. It might be salsa lessons, a pottery class, learning a new language or even sky diving. Now, do what you can to help him fulfill this dream. Believing in your dad's dreams is a wonderful gift to him and to yourself when you see how happy it makes him.
Think of things that your dad is passionate about and amaze him by gifting the same.
My father is an avid reader, so this Fathers day I intend to get him a book by Kahlil Gibran, that hes been intending to buy for a long time, but has been just to lazy to get it. I love my dad for who he is and what hes help me become, says Shalini Katoch.
Trideep Lahkar, a journalist and theatre person wishes to fulfill his dads impending desire. My father is a renowned theatre artiste in Assam and has made a few TV serials and documentaries. His dream was always to make a full length feature film, but so far he has not been able to so due to a poor response from producers. On this day, I wish to surprise him by giving him a film contract from a producer for his project.
A pack of Sergei Eisenstein and Mrinal Sens movies is also bound to make him happy, Trideep further adds.
You can also present your dad a gift of good health this Father's Day by reminding him of the importance of healthy living.
Ashish Sharma, a software professional, puts, I have bought a treadmill for my father because I want him to get on a healthier track in his life.
Father's Day special
